Computer running very slow.?
Computer running very slow. At times it seems to freeze up for a few seconds and then goes where pointer indicates. When trying to move the side bar up or down with mouse this is very slow and seems to freeze for a few seconds before moving. Email is also very slow as is Internet explorer. It at times seems to be running 2 programs, but I can't locate where this problem might be. Any help would be truly appreciated. This is driving me nuts!

Your registry may have some problems, so you can buy a registry cleaner that really will make your computer run faster, or go to http://freeregistrycleaner.com/ to have a free trial for one, but it wont fix as many errors.
You can also add more RAM to your computer, use disk cleanup, or disk defragmenter. (start> programs> accessories> system tools, and they should be there)
And you can adjust the mouse speed at the control panel ^_^ (start>control panel and click mouse options and pointer tab)
You can also click start>run and type in msconfig and uncheck all the options and only click on the important things to run at startup, like antiviruses or things like that.
Good luck! My computer used to be extremely slow too, and it is a lot better now.

Have you looked at the task manager. The process list will show you what is taking all the time. Also the graphical representation will do that. If your disk is very fragmented that will slow you down, too. As will a small memory footprint - like Mb is the minimum you want in your PC.

it probably is running way more than 2 programs(That is normal). Adding more ram will speed it up.
