Why do my friends say i will call you tonight and then never do? this includes my g.f.?

very rude I call my friend out when they did this! at some point you have to grow up and own up to your actions and be good to your word..

tell your friends how you feel say you would Rather here I'll call you when i have some extra time or talk to ya later! but don't do a I'll call you to nite and then stand me up!

ugh, i know what you mean. huge pet peeve of mine. two things you've got to remember, and so you don't get upset. one is to read your friends and/or their environment when they say they will call you back/later. meaning, if they are in a hurry, can't talk on the phone, are at work, have other people around them, etc. well, it's a pretty normal response to say "hey, can i call you later, i'm in the middle of something" etc. now, you can't always expect them to call you back in these situations. reason being, they are distracted with other things and people. so, they may or may not remember to call you back. another thing to remember is that some people like to say that they will call you later, and well they don't really have the intention of calling you later. it's not that they are trying to be mean or conniving. it's more so that they don't want to disappoint you. if this bothers you, then i would definetly bring it up to your friends or your gf. just say, "hey, i noticed that whenever you say that you are going to call me later, i never hear from you. and, while i totally understand that you are busy, it really bothers me, because i look forward to talking to you (you can say this to your gf), and/or i sometimes have things that i really need to talk to you about, or ask you." you don't have to say exactly that. put your own wording into it. just whatever you say, communicate that it bothers you, you understand that they are busy, if they can't talk later (when they say they can), it's cool, you'll just catch up with them the next day, etc.

Maybe they don't say it knowing they are not going to call. Maybe they just get busy or somthing comes up. Plus how often do you talk to them on the phone? If its all the time and they say "hey let me call you back". Then I can understand why they don't. Maybe just let you friends know how you feel about this and let them know that it bugs you.

They say it to make you feel better.

Honestly I do it sometimes because I dont like to talk on the phone and I don't like to make people feel bad when I tell them 'I just don't fee like talking on the phone'

Another reason why they may not call back is because maybe they where talking to someone else on the phone.

You know what, I think most people really mean to call you but either forget or dont have time. I try my best to never say i'll call unless i really will and if i dont you better know i couldnt.

ummm most of the time i forget...but i know that when its me who is waiting for the call i get frustrated.

well sometime there is a good excuse maybe they were too busy but then sometimes maybe they didn't feel like it i think you should talk to her and ask her wats up.....
