The Cubs? The Cardinals? The Yankees?

On SC the other day they said that all three of these teams have no chance of doing anything productive like making the playoffs. Does anyone disagree?

Nope. They are correct. Sorry to burst your bubble. It's expected that only fans of these clubs would disagree. It's expected.

The Brewers have that division on lock. The Cubbies and Cards aren't even WC worthy. The Yankees are in the same boat. Sorry. I know I will get thumbs down from their fans. It's expected.

The Cubs and Cards have a shot because they play in an extremely weak division. The Yankees, short of a meltdown by the Tigers, Indians, or Red Sox are pretty much done. If they win every 3 game series and split every 4 game series they have left this year, the Yankees only get to 91 wins. That's not enough to get the Wild Card in the AL. Whoever is second in the AL Central will probably be in the 95-98 win range. So the Yankees don't have more than a very slim chance of doing anything productive like making the playoffs.

All of you people are just yankee fans. live in reality they are done. Yall spend so much money trading and signing big name older players. Maybe the yankees should build instead of always wasting money on washed up players like jason giambi, johnny damon, randy johnson in the past and their worst move to date signing Roger Clemens for all that money. What a waste he is 1-3 with a 5.32 ERA. He could be good if your old washed up superstars could hit. The worst thing yall did was trade Soriano for A Rod. Sorinao will have plenty of great seasons to come while A Rod maybe has 3 good years left.

As far as the Cubs probably not. The Cardinals and the Yankees (my team), have a realistic shot due to the fact both teams over the last 3-5 years have shown that they are good second half teams. They can win enuff games to get themselves in playoff contentions. The real issue is can their hitting and pitching make a tunranround to make a push towards the playoffs and the answer is yes. Besides the hitting and pitching both teams have please keep in mind with the trade deadlines approaching each team can pick up players to help foster that turnaround.

Hard to believe the Cardinals, but I don't believe the Cubs or Yankees can do that.

The Yankees should start shopping parts for prospects.

Thank you...finally SC says something true about the Yankees!

I agree...look how far back they are and the other teams are just picking it up...they're getting left in the dust.

I disagree with the cubs not doing anything, they are getting hot now and soriano is hitting, maybe the cardinals when their pitchers get back like mulder, if he does, carpenter, and looper and others on the dl, but i doubt the yanks will, the red sox are killers this year with their top 3 pitchers.

well lets see cubs maybe , cardinals nope, and the yankees yes if they play better and have good pitching and defense

cardinals def. wont make it this year.

cubs possibly could, but dont count on it.

yankees, slight chance but red sox has it in the bag.

They all have a chance to make the playoffs. I believe there is a very good chance that at least one will go to the playoffs.
