My IPOD is frozen ~ what could it be?
I just bought this about a month ago. I have used it 3-4 times and now it's frozen. When I plug it into the computer, the computer freezes up. I'm thinking of taking it back to the store, but since I live 50 miles away, I thought a second opinion would be good first. Any ideas? It's a 2 gig nano.

yeah thesame thing just happened to my ipod nano 2 gigs today too and i just got it like 5 months ago. it didnt freeze my computer up when i plugged it in but the ipod itself did freeze up and nothing worked for about 5 hours. i waited it out until the battery died and started it up again and now it works, maybe you should try that. thats the best tip i can give you right now, good luck. also you might be able to get a new one if you go and complain to them or get it fixed at their store.

Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.

Hold the play and center buttons down for I think 5 or 10 seconds. One of those.

did you try holding down the middle button and the bottom button at the same time? It should re-start it. If not, bring it to a mac store, and they will replace on the spot! I had a shuffle that wouldn't shuffle that I bought on overstock.com and I brought it to a mac store and they replaced it because they couldn't figure it out.
