Besides Las Vegas, where are some nice places to live in Nevada?

Which city is the best to live in out of Reno, Carson City, Las Vegas, and Henderson?

I think Laughlin and Hendersen, NV are both great places to live if you would like to stay in the vicinity of Vegas. They have nice, new, plush homes - and the traffic is very minimal at times (though accidents can cause some backups, nothing like california though). Plus, they are really close enough to Vegas so you can still have a fun night in the city and eat at nice restaurants. They also have nice schools there if you have kids.

Reno, I think is the MOST underrated city in NV, and quite possibly in the US. It has great entertainment, and has very good access to some of the nicest views of nature and national parks. In addition, it has many new condos and homes that are VERY nice and RENO has recently started a renovation of the city and its surrounding areas, so buying a home there should be a great investment. It has access to the snow in the winter and San francisco is only 3-4 hours away. Not to mention that Lake Tahoe is only about an hour away. It is a growing city with all the amenities that Vegas has, but without as much action (which can also be a desireable trait)

Las Vegas is still a hot commodity in terms of living space and home purchase. I would most there if they have more engineering jobs (which is my career). But Reno has better weather, Laughlin and Henderson have better and newer homes for cheaper and all three cities are less crowded with less traffic. If Vegas is where you want to be, then moving there is the best choice, its not too expensive yet and very exciting to live in (my friend loves it there). But Laughlin and Henderson are great alternatives.

I would not suggest Carson City, I always thought it looked very old and there is not much to do there. But then again I dont know too much about it, been there only twice. It very well may be a nice place to live in.

Good luck and hope this helps.

Depending on what you want as a lifestyle...Other growing communities around Vegas (Besides Henderson) is North Las Vegas....urgan sprawl is growing Vegas quickly

If you want a less crowded lifestyle, you can travel out from Las Vegas to neighboring communities that still have really affordable land/homes but infrastructre continues to slowly grow to support the town (e.g Pahrump).

I prefer Lake Tahoe (the Nevada) side over Reno....more scenic...but again it's going to cost more.

    -Summerlin (Northeast of Las Vegas)

-Green Valley (Southeast of Las Vegas near Henderson)

    -Boulder City (no casinos there)

-Laughlin (I have not been there for so long so I heard they're good place to live)

-Bullhead City (But thats in Arizona but across the river from Laughlin)

-Lake Havasu (I m not sure if its in Nevada or in Arizona)
