The insulation for the wiring to the RF door switch may be worn through, allowing the bare wire to contact the body, therefore completing the ground circuit. That would cause the light to come on.

The button in the door jam of the passenger door is shorting out. You can push on it manually with your finger and the light should go out with the door open. There might be corrosion on the wire connector. If memory serves me right you should be able to pry the button out of it's resting place with a small flat head screw driver. Then un plug it and look and see if there is corrosion in the plug or on the spade teminal of the actual button the plug pushes on. Clean it with some WD 40. And plug it back in. Then actuate it with your fingers and make sure the light is going out. If it is just push the little button back into the door jam securing it back in its original spot and see if that works. You may have to replace the button if it doesn't work. The button is cheap, and as you will see very easy to replace by yourself

You may have a short in the harness. Chrysler is notorious for harness going bad. it is usually at a plug.... find the plug on that wire...disconnect...see if the light stays on. Those door switches go bad like crazy too.
