The Sims 2 and Laptops?
I'm about to buy a Dell XPS M1210 with 160GB of HD, 2 GB of Ram and Intel Media Accelorator 950 Graphics. I was wondering how well The Sims 2 would work on it and what effects adding some expansions would have. While we're on the subject how well will SimCity 4 work.
Cheers

I'm amazed that Dell XPS uses integrated graphics, for all that money you probably paid, they could have at least given you a low-end graphics card! I have a Dell with integrated graphics and the Sims 2 runs marginally well. It can be a bit slow at times and a lot of the effects like, smoke from food, of screen transitions get really choppy or don't work at all.(It works so much better on my HP Laptop with Nvidia) Maybe if you have a lot of memory things might improve, but the overall performance will be mediocre at best. Best of luck installing and playing the game.

the only thing i'd be concerned about is that graphics card. Is it a 256 or 512 MB graphics card? it doesn't seem familiar to me. If it is a good graphics card, it will work fine. If it's not, you may have trouble. The rest of your specs look great.
