What's the easiest way to get a free room upgrade in Las Vegas?

We will be staying at the Suncoast in August.

    There are couple of ways...

You can try to "tip" the person at the check-in desk with a $20. Simply slip a 20 with you ID and CC and hand it to clerk when they ask for it. At same time, ask if there are any upgrades available. This is well known as the "Twenty Dollar Trick." and it works a surprisingly often. There is even a web site dedicated to the practice.

You can also just try to be very nice and ask for the upgrade because its a "special weekend" or something like that. This often works as well but not as good as adding the cash!

Lastly if you planning on logging a decent amount of hours in the casino, you should call and ask to speak with a casino host. Tell them what you are planning on playing and what you like in a room and they may be able to take care of you upfront. Of course, you would have to give them the play but it would guarentee the room before you got there instead of hoping to score at check-in.

    I hope this helps...

I agree with calling the casino host/hostess. We do that every time we go out. We let her know when we are coming and what type of rooms we want. My husband and I get adjoining rooms(before you laugh read on). He likes to gamble all hours of the night. He might go up to bed around 10:00p.m. and wake up around 2 or 3 and go back down for more gambling. It's MY vacation too and I don't want to be in the same room, with someone up and down all night. So, our hostess sets a side adjoining rooms for us. We generally are comped one room before we ever get there(his gambling takes care of that). By the time we check out, we have gambled enough for her to give us both rooms free and we don't pay for any of our meals in the casino restaurants. There are stipulations. Discuss this with your host/hostess when you call them... some casinos will up-grade you after you have proven you can handle the gambling requirement.

See if placing a large amount of cash on deposit for gambling will help.
