Grey's Anatomy" star Isaiah Washington said racism was a factor in his firing from the hit ABC. Is he right?

Washington, who initially used the epithet during an onset clash with a co-star, told Newsweek magazine that "someone heard the booming voice of a black man and got really scared and that was the beginning of the end for me."

Issiah Washington is has something new to say about getting fired every week and I think he is just trying to either (a) stay in the news, (b) make the show look bad as revenge, or (c) try to get people behind him and get his job back.

Considering the diverse cast and crew of the show I do not think race played a factor. Part of the reason Washington was fired was for his actions but I also don't think his character was as popular as the other characters on the show. If I were to ask someone who their favorite character was no one I know would say Dr. Burke. If his character was more popular he might not have been fired.

What I find amusing is that the Creator of Grey's Anaotmy, Shondra Rhimes, IS African American and yet he's still using a race card? You know she had say in whether he would stay or go. And he wonders why people were "afraid" of him-probably because he's known to have anger management issues. Ive heard that he's been this way in the past and on movie sets as well.

Its amazing to me that he could so brutally insult a group of people on two seperate occasions, going so far as to out a cast member and now he's turning around and making it about him and his race. America heard what he said. The best part was that he said he went to rehab and did the PSA because he wanted to stay on the show and thought they had an agreement that he would. Boy does he sound remorseful about what he said or what? Im glad he's gone!

I don't know the exact reason that they ended up firing him so long after the incident, but I don't think that racism was a factor in the decision, considering that the creator of the show and primary person in casting and decision-making is a black woman. I personally just think that they made a decision that some groups may have persuaded them to make.
