What does a Guru/spiritual master mean to you?

I consider only Sai Baba as my Guru, and yes, i'm sure He is guiding me always..

To me a True Guru is one when God descends to earth in the form of a human body to restore righteousness. In the Guru Gita, Guru is greater than God. Not even God can stop the Guru.

My Guru carries me across the Ocean of Transmigration. She is the bridge because She knows the way. My Guru is everything to me. She is Mother, Teacher, Best Friend, and Beloved to me. She is my All, my Everything.

Ever since my Guru entered my life, She filled it with so much more love, light, blessings, grace, beauty, miracles, opportunities, protection, guidiance, too many to list. I cannot imagine my life without Her.

A True Guru is not bound by time and distance. They can continue to guide, teach, love, support and discipline their disciples no matter whereve they are as there is no distance for the Guru. My Guru always communicates to me and is there for me no matter wherever She is on the globe.

two Diksha Guru

Siksha Guru who teaches

Diksha Guru who preaches

In Vaisnab culture a person has to take diksha with out whcih one can not attain the path of Moksha.

It is also mentioned in Bhagbat Gita

Guru means the link for us to meet with God.

When we cry to God to help us, He sends us Guru. If you are sincere, you will certainly get sad guru, Krsna promises this.

Guru is the concentrated mercy of God, therefore he is also known as "sakshad Hari" directly God- and we respect him as such. But really he is the eternal servant of God, and most dear to God, because he is so close to God's heart this is said. Nothing can control God, yet He is controlled by a pure devotees' love.

He is eternally perfected, and out of unlimited compassion and for the desire of Bhagavan, he comes to material universes just for our sake!

Guru means he who dispels the darkness of ignorance which has kept our eyes blind... he is our deliverance, we owe our life to Sri Guru, he has taken our hand and is pulling us from the abomination of material existence, which is so embarrassing and disgusting.

He introduces us to God!! He guides us every step of the way! All scriptures constantly sing Sri Guru's glories! How can I begin to touch Guru tattva here?! How can I praise Guru enough!!??

A Guru or a spiritual master is the person who recognises the flame of love for God in you, nurtures and kindles it in a manner as suited to your individual personality. He not only guides you on the spiritual path, but also sees you through the thick and thin of the slippery route like a loving mother.. to some extent, perhaps, the guru is even greater than the God, because he leads you to God...

A guru or spiritual master is a person that has knowledge of spiritual matters and qualified to teach and lead.

In some spiritual beliefs this guru can be in control of the students life. The old television show Kung Fu shows spiritual masters and guru's very good in my opinion. Gandhi was a spiritual master.

Then we have modern guru's in programs such as AA where the people with the most sober time lead, guide, and some say control the newcomer. These guru's are expert in AA saying and one liners, and have a way of making it appear they are wise. In some groups these guru's practice medicine without a license and tell their people to not listen to doctors but to them and to throw medication away. They are spiritual advisers, doctors, lawyers, therapists, all without having any schooling or applying for a license.

A guru usually controls the life and minds of those under them.

I think : Guru is greater than god, He shows, guides, teaches and loves there students. and (Spiritual) guru is the only one person he is greater or equal to god. firstly he is a practical man. He is doing yoga, Meditation, and all. and he watches that what will react in body. After that he will teaches the student. Guru's Body is a Lab. He only doing the experiments. after getting good results he will teaches us. If we are wrong he will show the right path. Guru is not a blind teacher or book reader he teaches us with his own experiments. He is only one person he shows the path of god. How to find god in our heart. and he realises that god is within us. not outside. He shows god. & He shows the right path.

A Guru means a guide who is a True Saint for spiritual guidance to a soul in his spiritual path. Having a guru, you surrender yourself to HIm who initiates you , puts His radiance form in you andhelps you to merge with the Lord!

He is God-incarnate and is sent by Him to collect His marked souls!

I am lucky to have Sri Sri Ravi Shankar as my Guru. "Art of life " taught by my Gurudeo has revolutionised so many lives across the Globe,including mine.

There is now no burden on my mind, He has taken it all on His strong shoulders. If I gain something, it is His Grace, if not, I have still to strive & deserve it. I sleep peacefully , leaving all my burden on my Gurudeo. Jai Shri Gurudeo !
