What was the greatest song to have come out of the eighties?

Could it be Viena by Ultravox or something by U2 of Simple Minds. Perhaps UB40. I even like Karma Chameleon by the Culture Club and all Dire Straits. Maybe Springsteen?

Wow, I was just thinking of Karma Chameleon! There were so many great songs that came out of the 80's- it's too hard to pick just one. I used to get Smash Hits and check out the bands. I liked "Love Plus One" by Haircut 100. And in the shops today, I actually heard, "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley! I laughed so much. My favorite song out of the 80's- "Nowhere Girl" by B-Movie. (one hit wonder) I guess it just depends on the timeframe and what sort of music you liked back then. I liked all of Culture Club. (even when they got cheesy later on, or were they always cheesy?) I could do the dance to, "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?" blindfolded! My boyfriend was so annoyed everytime I did it because he hated Boy George. Haha XD!

    Mr. Mister - "Kyrie"

It's a very inspirational song that few people know the true meaning behind. "Kyrie Eleison", often heard during Catholic mass means, "The Lord is with me" or "Lord have Mercy".

If you have a chance to listen to this hit from the 80s, listening to the words carefully, they are very moving.

Also, Foreigner's - "I want to know what love is", for the same reason.

    Rock Me Amadaeus by Falco.

    Final Countdown by Europe

Don't you want me by (I think) Human league

Those songs pretty much sum up the 80's for me.

In other words the 80's ruled!

I don't like the 80's. The oldies are better from the 50's. I also like hearing music from today. Hannah Montana, Jonas brothers, and Bowling for soup.

You reported some super bands there, aside from way of lifestyles membership, lol. Down interior the Tubestation on the hours of darkness - The Jam Exposing Thatcher's grasping suitable winged government. i assume a lot of songs did that, yet thats my fav.
