Can i use my existing SCSI controller card with an extermal scanner?

I have a Dell Desktop with an internal SCSI controller card that is running my primary hard drive, can i also use this controller for an external scanner if not will there be any conflicts if i add a separate controller card for the scanner

    you can use the both together.. not many use scsi now.. i've not for years.. i use a usb2 scanner..

    there should be a thing to change the SCSI id of the scanner anyway to avoid such problems.. when you boot, u can go into the scsi card bios? just make sure the numbers are different.. also you might need to use a scsi terminator.

    Yes you can as long as the SCSI id's do not conflict.
