All Star rigged?

How could Barry Bonds have possibly gotten in. He was way behind Soriano in the voting, then all of a suddent he's ahead. I think that he didn't really win the fan vote, but they just put him in since the All Star Game is in San Francisco (they probably put it in SF just because of Bonds too, so he wouldnt get booed for what might be his last season. What do you guys think?

Update:

Obviously it was fixed. He has to be in it. He's about to break the record, and it's in San Francisco, they would need to see him on his own turf. I just don't see how it is possible that Bonds could have amazingly came back at the last minute in the voting.

Update 2:

giantsluvr22, I am not a Dodgers fan. I hate the Dodgers, I'm a die-heart Angel.

I am starting to think it was. I mean all week they were saying Soriano ( who deserves to start over Barry) was leading and all of a sudden "last minute voting" and Barry all of a sudden has more votes? I thought it was odd last year when some Pirate guy made it in last year, and he wasn't even that good, I mean the Pirates don't have that many fans. As for Bonds, there's been too many fans not liking him as it is, so how does he win fan vote? Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the guy, I kinda like him, I didn't vote for him because I voted for someone on my team, if that guy wasn't on the list I might of voted for him.

Check the schedules of the teams of both players. Maybe Soriano had a lot of home games earlier, then was on the road at the end of voting; similarly, Bonds may have been on the road more than at home, but at home the last week or so, getting a major boost from the hometown fans casting votes for him. I seriously doubt it was rigged, especially to get Bonds into the game. Remember, Selig keeps dancestepping the issue of whether he'll be in attendance as Bonds gets near enough to 755. (My guess is he won't attend, and has only been delaying saying as much in the media.) If it was rigged by MLB and the comissioner had a hand in the matter, it would have been rigged for Bonds NOT to be elected, in my opinion.

The game will be sold out regardless of whether Bonds plays or not.

At least this gets LaRussa off the hook of having to decide whether to add Bonds as a backup. (I think he would have.)

I recently saw where the allstar rosters are now 32 players to a side. What a joke.

It probably happened on the last day. I know many people waited til the last minute or forgot to vote until like an hour before poll closing.

Lots of people think he deserved to be in the All Star game; I mean if you ask a person who doesn't know baseball much to name a player. They will probably say Barry Bonds or Sammy Sosa.

It was either rigged or a few hundred thousand myopic fools from Northern California voted that cheating fool in (trust me, I'm a transplant and these NorCal fans are delusional).

Eric Young is an absolute fool for comparing Barroid to Cal Ripken, Jr.

    Barroid- insecure little boy.

    Cal Ripken- grown *ss man.

Yeah, Soriano was/is the better choice over Barry. I think he only made it because it's in San Francisco.

The voting was not rigged...the giants had a HUGE advertising campaign to get Barry Bonds into the game..they begged people to vote 25 times to get bonds in..Bud selig is a bonds hater so i dont think he would rig the voting process to get Bonds in.

  • Whatever. Bud is a big Barry hater. You actually think he would allow a fix? Okay just like Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken got in when they actually sucked. Get real. Barry would have been voted in by the players anyways if it had not been by the fans.
