89 ford escort gt 1.9L HO won't idle?
FYI, I have built many engines so this problem is not something obvious.
Head gasket failed, so I had head rebuilt with new cam, valve job and surfaced. It was also pressure tested, no leaks. Reinstalled and cannot get it to idle. Have checked timing marks repeatedly, checked injectors and all sensors and found no problems. Compression 125 to 130 lbs all cylinders. Computer check doesn't report any errors. Revs great. Is there something unusual or special about the marks on the cam and crank? Both crank and camgear point up. Any thoughts?

did you adjust the throttle cable right. it should just be open a little bit. that is with the stop screw on the butterfly/ throttle plate. hope this helps you. good luck!
