Threw out my arm?

Okay, I'm only 26 years old and I've been playing ball forever. I have never thrown out my arm until this last season. It's in my elbow, not my shoulder or anything. I rest it, and it feels good a week later but inevitably, I try throwing somebody out from center field and there it goes. What can I do to prevent it? Anything I could wear on my elbow area that helps? Stretches? There is not an option for me to move to the infield. Thanks!!!

If it is on the inside of the elbow you need to shut it down and visit and orthopedic physician within the next few days. DO NOT use heat, ice only for 20 minutes every 2 hrs.

Are you having any numbing in the pinky or ring fingers? If yes then you may have a ligament problem that is impinging the nerve. Get to a physician who speciailizes in joint care (not those joints) and listen to him.

I did not stay at a Holiday Inn, but it sounds as though you probably have a severe case of elbow tendinitis. If you can recover and then hurt it again, that is a probable assumption. I'd suggest going to an orthopaedic and let them diagnose it. Yes, stretching and maybe a compression sleeve would help, but ultimately it sounds like a doctor could better prescibe the care you need.
