thank you notes for internal job interview?

I've just had an interview for an internal job for a management position. I'm not sure about sending a Thank you note? should i mail this to my own office? or do i leave this on thier desk/mail box. Some one suggested mailing it to thier home address? What is the proper ettiquette for this type of situtation?

Update:

hey thanks, the question was posted cause it's an internal job interview, not just a job. that's why it's tricky.

Update 2:

ok so once again, the delima is not whether or not i should send a thank you note. The question is where do i send it, i work for this company, it's would be for a manger position in the company i'm already working for. so, the question is, do i mail this? or set it on thier desk? or put it in thier mail box? i literaly am down the hall from them.

If you know them fairly well, I would set it on their desk. If you don't see them too often, you could put it in their mail box, but only if it's fairly private. If it's an open mailbox where other staff look through their stuff, stick to putting it on their desk.

One should always thank for an interview. I'd recommend you send it to the person who interviewed you office address, his/her mailing address or inbox address.

Firstly it lets her/him know that you appreciated him/her considering you, whether you get the position or not.

Secondly good manners stand out every time. Be different than the rest of the crowd, show the bosses you actually have some .

Thirdly , even if you don't get the position , having the thank you note put into your file may make him/her think of you again.

My suggestion is to always follow-up an interview with a thank-you letter and it should be sent to the office address. Do not ever send work related correspondence to a supervisor's home address. That takes it out of a business setting into a personal setting, not recommended.

    Good luck!! : )

It's fine to send it through the internal mail system, since it is an internal job, but you should put your thank-you note in its envelope and then put that in a routing envelope (one of those big manilla jobbies) to keep it private.
