How can I tell If Ive broken my hand?

I hit a wall (stupid me i know) my right hand knckle (below my pinky) is sunken. I'm not sure if it is becuase of the swelling on that side of my hand. Also below my knuckle is a pretty good size hard lump. That side of my hand keeps getting almost like a tingling numbing sinstation. I have full range of montion of my finers. I am able to open and close them...but very slowly this does cause pain in the aera that has the lump. That side of my hand also is swollen but not much brusing yet. If slightly pressing on the side of my hand and or the lump its very painful. I have broken my wrist in the past and had no symptoms of pain and or swelling for a week. It also is painful when i rest the base of my palm down for example when i type. I do work for a physican which is out of town lol. help

Usually there is severe bruising, swelling, and you probably would be unable to move your fingers, but when I shattered my wrist I could still move my fingers so you may just want to go get an x-ray to be sure.

It sounds like it could be broken but it could also only b cracked soak it in cold water to see if the swelling goes down it should help with the pain

I hit the wall once. man that hurt, but the only thing that happened was a chipped knuckle and it was swollen. Not totaly broken

It could just be a sprain, but there's really no way to be sure unless you see a doctor. I would just make an appointment with a doctor, and you can cancel if your hand gets better.

if u can move it, it's probably not broken but u should see a dr. if the pain isn't getting any less
