If only one person answered your question with inaccurate or not helpful info - how do you select a best ansr?

If there is ONLY ONE answer-----even if it's horrible----then you have to know (unfortunately) that they will receive the best answer award. It might be 6 months from now (or longer)--but they'll get it, cause someone who just wants the 1 point will vote for it.

Options are---Grit your teeth and pick them as best ----they'll get the 10 points,--yeah--I know , not a happy thought----but they're gonna get them anyway, when it goes to voting. At least you will have the chance to leave a comment, stating your disappointment-----AND you get 3 points returned for picking an answer.

OR----delete the question before it goes to voting. You won't get your 5 points back, but you WILL prevent them being awarded 10.

It seems to me there is an option missing. You ought to be able to select 'No Best Answer' in the same way you can choose a Best Answer, and not let the question go to the vote.

Until such an option is available, you either take the chance of it winning regardless of your vote, or delete the question before it goes into voting -- but then you don't get your points back.

Let the question go out to vote so you don't have to be accused of selecting a wrong answer.

Send it to voting -- and then vote for NO BEST ANSWER. Best you can do. If that selection wins, you will get all 5 of your points back and the question will be deleted.

when you are ready choose a best answer there are several stars that give the rating of the answer .

1= OK

5 stars = thorough and informative .

you dont you select no best answer then ask a different questian or re word the one you asked already
