try to star twith neutral colors...like liek pink, or light coral lipsticks. mascara is not required by all , so only wear it when u feel u want to. Like weddings and stuff. don't use foundation right away. wear that also occasinally. Try to wear brown or neutral eye makeup. Try almay..if ur a first time user..its pretty good to start with....most impoartant is that if u feel u don't need makeup , then u probably don't. Just stay natural and i bet u will feel happy.

I recommend Bobbi Brown's "Beauty" book. It really helped me establish a better look and helped me enjoy putting on my makeup. As a follow up, I'd go to the makeup counters at your department store for hands-on advice and techniques. Also, ask the beauty counters if they have any classes coming up that you can attend. They usually charge for the classes but you get in back in products at the end of the class.

Go get Kevin Aucoins book, "Making Faces" from the library. He has looks that range from the mild to the wild, but also explains about how to apply it. Plus, the pictures of what this man does with makeup is worth a look. He really was an artist.

To be honest I would recommend covergirl. It's safe product that has always worked well for me for a reasonable price. I simply suggest using eye shadow with a lip gloss to start out with. Many times, natural colors are the best.

What I would recommend is for you to go to a Makeup stand and ask of the salespeople. Try somewhere like MAC or Sephora and they will sometimes even show you by doing your makeup for you step by step...

If you want to start off without being dramatic, a little bit of brown eyeliner, a touch of bronze/pink blush, light lip color lip glosses, and mascara.

  • go to mac and only mac the salespeople there are SO helpful and they do free makeup consultations too (although they usually expect you to buy the products they used so...be prepared)
