Is it a myth when we said that cat and dog will fight when meet each other?

Our dog Pookie was half chow and half lab. He got along with cats until they hissed at him, then he would go after them. He was a big teddy bear. He grew up with cats so it was no big deal for him.

Dogs and cats really get into fights. And bad ones. Have you heard of the saying: "They fought like a dog and cat"? That's where it comes from.

Dogs and cats become very good friends if they are introduced at a very young age. Otherwise, they might always fight or just ignore each other completely.

So, no, it isn't a myth when we said that cat and dog will fight when they meet each other.

There are many instances of animals adopting other species such as the tigress that adopted baby pigs and pigs that adopted lambs.

Not all cats and dogs fight, but if you put a dog that does like cats with a cat, or a cat who doesn't like dogs with a dog, nothing good will come of it. However, if the cat / dog was raised with a dog / cat, then no problem.

We have had a cat for years and over the space of that time, have also had 3 dogs. All have gotten along with the cat.

ive got 3 dogs and 3 cats, i had all three dogs first and they hadnt really been with a cat before, when i got my first cat the dogs didnt attack it they were just curious and started licking it and stuff. and when i got my two other cats they didnt even bother with them so no not all dogs and cats fight

iv 3 dogs and my 2 greys would kill a cat if they got hold of one..my yorkie jus runs away from cats xx
