What would you do if CBS stopped you on the street?

I was just getting a lotto ticket at 40th and 8th in Manhattan and a CBS intern stopped me and asked if I wanted to be interviewed by some reporter (I don't know his name, but he looked familiar) for a puff piece (my words) on the 7-7-7 lotto thing. I guess that being that people are supposedly buying lotto tickets with the numbers 7-7-7 for the powerball drawing tomorrow.

I was horrified by the idea and said no!!!

Is that unusual? Has this ever happened to you? How many of you would have said yes? And why? Wouldn't you be embarassed to be a part of that? She seemed surprised by my reaction. Did I miss my big break?!?!

Update:

btw, it really was CBS. They had the truck and equipment and everything.

I'm with you. Lots and lots of people would do just about anything to be on television. I really don't understand that.

I once was approached to be a "man on the street" sort-of victim of a game show or a humor show or something. I said no.

I'm not the most dignified person in the world, but I wouldn't risk it by going on TV for a thing like that, or for a dumb interview. Plus I hate television news too much. Haven't watched it in many, many years.

Now that is Gun control and also completely false! nice try lol Quote: Summary of the eRumor: Two illegal aliens broke into a home in Butte, Montana. An 11-year-old girl was home alone. She had been a clay shooting champion and ran and got her father's shotgun. She ended up shooting both intruders. The email asks if you ever wonder why good stuff never makes the news? The Truth: According to the Butte-Silver Bow Sheriff's department in Montana, this never took place. We have not found any other evidence of its truth. Unquote

I would have annoyed the guy by agreeing, then going totally off topic and thanking CBS for bringing back Jericho.

dont know if you missed your big break, but it is perfectly fine that you did not agree to the interview Or the hype for that matter.

maybe i could do it if it was a planned thing, but i couldnt do it right there off the street

Yeah, you blew it. Usually, if they use your clip on the air you get paid about $1000. I guess you will have to do a screen test if you ever want to be on TV now.

I so would have said yes. Smile for the camera!

I probably would have reacted the same way because I would have thought that it would have been "too good to be true"...
