2000 R6 Idle?
What would cause the idle to increase from 1500 when cold to 2500 when at normal operating temperature. Is this something to be concerned about. Also should i try adjusting with the throttle stop screw (left side of bike) or the throttle screw (on the right side of the bike). Any tips would be helpful.

The idle should be checked and adjusted when the engine is at operating temperature (warmed up).
1200 -1500rpm - It's better for an engine to idle faster, rather than slower.
To slow and the engine will be struggling to run and put unnecessary ware on moving parts.
The idle adjustment screw is on the left side.
Has a big knob connected to a cable.
I'm not sure what you mean by throttle screw.
The carbs probably weren't adjusted properly.
There are plenty of incompetent mechanics out there.

It should idle at around 1000 when warm with the choke off. Does it run weird when warmed up? If so the choke cable is stuck or something is wrong with the choke. You should only adjust the idle with the knob on the right side.

could be an air leak around the carbs, spray some wd 40 or similar around the carbs and see if it makes a difference.
