Why won't winblows vista allow me to save pictures or even change my browser from IE to firefox?

I keep getting access denied messages when I try to save something,even from sites I belong to that allow you to take things from their site.To make matters worse,I can't change my browser to firefox and I get error messages even if I try to open up videos.I cn't even get into the advanced section in internet options to change settings...Help!

    Go to settings and find user or account control. Make sure you have all rights. Vista might have problems but it is still windows with "user" friendly controls.
