If cared for and it has had the timing belt changed when supposed to (oil too) it could run up to 275000 miles or more. I would take it to a diagnostics place to look at it to make sure the car is on the up and up. 2200 dollars is a great deal but make sure your not buying a lemon

The price sounds higher than the KBB (I hadn't looked on KBB though).
If the previous owner took care of it and garaged it, the car should have no problem driving another 50,000 miles.
As KrazyKasse said, there will be some maintenance costs coming up because the vehicle's parts have worn out over time.

It will last for as long as you continue to fix whatever is wrong with it. On the streets of Cuba there are Chevies from the 1950s that are still driven every day. Why ? ,because you can't buy a new car there, so they just keep fixing their old one.

I'd be weary. A car, well maintained (ask for maintanance records), will last a long time, but pushing 200,000 miles on any car is difficult. You may notice problems add up (starter, atlternator, battery, tranny work, etc.), and make the purchase price irrelevant.

There really is no safe way to tell how many miles a car will go before giving up and dying but if it was properly maintained and you properly maintain it. It could last for a very long time.
Source(s): I had a truck that I took care of and the odometer rolled on it like 3 times before I got rid of it and bought one that was suited more for a family. - 1 decade ago
i wouldn't buy it. save up another 1,000 and you'll get something a little better. 160,000 miles on a gas engine is quite a bit, you'll be putting more money into it just to keep it running. keep looking for a better deal, they are out there!
