3 packages of oreos. 2 jars of peanut butter. 2 jars of grape jam. 3 loafs of bread. 2 gallons of milk. 2 dozen Twinkies. 3 packs of sour gummie worms, and a 12 pack of beer. (The beer is for you & hubbie, of course.)

Children love dips and finger foods; this vegetable dip works well with chips and carrot sticks, too.

If Cajun spice is too hot for your family, substitute Italian seasoning, which is milder and more familiar. In summer, skewer and cook the chicken on the grill instead of in the oven.

    Makes 4 servings.

    Ingredients

    2 tbsp. good-quality barbecue sauce

    2 tbsp. sesame seeds

    1 tbsp. sesame oil

    1 tsp. Cajun spice

3 skinned, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into 2-by-1/4-inch strips

1/2 cup red peppers, coarsely chopped

    1 cup cucumber, coarsely chopped

1 cup yellow squash, coarsely chopped

1/2 cup celery heart, coarsely chopped

1/2 cup fresh basil, coarsely chopped

2 cups regular or low-fat sour cream

    Juice of one lemon

    Directions

Whisk together the barbecue sauce, sesame seeds, oil and Cajun spice. Set aside.

Place all the chicken pieces inside a zip-top bag. With the smooth side of a meat mallet or the bottom of a saucepan, gently pound the chicken until flattened. Arrange in a single layer on a baking sheet and brush with the sauce.

Place in a preheated 375-degree oven and bake for 6 minutes. Turn, brush the other side with the sauce, and bake another 3 minutes. Remove and keep warm.

Meanwhile, combine the peppers, cucumber, squash, celery heart and basil in a food processor or blender. Process until the vegetables are finely chopped. Add the sour cream and lemon juice, then pulse until well blended.

Place the dip in a bowl centered on a serving platter. Brush the chicken one more time with the sauce, then arrange the chicken around the dip and serve. Makes 4 servings.

i used to be firmly interior the 'it truly is all of the parent's fault' camp, yet now that I somewhat have a newborn, that got here back to chew me sq. on the tush. My son is via a procedures the pickiest eater I somewhat have ever encountered. He survives on actually below a dozen diverse products. it truly is not any longer that he's not any longer presented a useful type (my husband and that i are not picky and make an entire selfmade supper on a daily basis), he in simple terms flat out won't attempt it. Pushing the subject in simple terms reasons him to have a panic attack. He does have some sensory subjects, and maximum of them are oral, so i know it truly is the place his pickiness comes into play. So, to respond to your question, each now and then it truly is the dad and mom, each now and then it truly is sensory, and each now and then it truly is who knows of what. no longer likely the respond you have been finding for. I live in the Philippines and here, 20,000,000 people go to bed without having had a meal that day. A small piece of salt fish and a handful of rice is a great meal for these people.

And your kids are " picky eaters " ? Let the spoiled brats go hungry for 3 days and see if they are still picky.

Grill out. Its easy to make many different foods all at once on a grill. Some options include:

    Hot Dogs

    Burgers

    Bratwursts

    Baked Potatoes

Seasoned potatoes ( 1/2 - 1 inch cubes of potato wrapped in a aluminum foil packet with salt/pepper/mrs dash and butter)

    Corn

    Chicken Breasts

    Kabobs

Even deserts like baked apples, grilled pinapple, or grilled bananas with ice cream!!

Oyako-donburi (chicken and egg over rice)

    • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

    • 3/4 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into strips

    • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced

    • 1 cup chicken broth

    • 6 dried shiitake mushrooms, soaked until soft, then sliced into strips

    • 1 carrot, julienned

    • 2 tablespoons white sugar

    • 4 tablespoons soy sauce

    • 1/2 teaspoon salt

    • 1/2 cup chopped green onions

    • 5 eggs, beaten

    DIRECTIONS

    1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Saute chicken strips and onion until the chicken is cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain off as much liquid as possible.

    2. Stir in the chicken broth, and simmer for 2 minutes. Add the mushrooms and carrot, and let simmer for a few minutes before stirring in the sugar, soy sauce and salt. Simmer for 3 more minutes. Sprinkle in half of the green onions, stirring gently. Pour beaten eggs over the chicken mixture, and simmer until the eggs are cooked through, about 10 minutes. Serve over Japanese sticky rice.

Donate the kids and husband to Goodwill and go get yourself a nice steak dinner. When I was a kid and I dared to be picky, I didn't eat. It was that simple. Thats when parents were not afraid of their kids and social services....Have a nice meal...

Can the kids help? How old are they? Chances are if they help they will eat! Tacos were always a big hit at my house. Or give something a silly name (beanie weinies). Use veggies and make a funny face his/her plate.
