Do you ever... Amish?

I think it would be good to try a simpler life for a while. One that isn't cluttered with so much material crap and so much technology that it sometimes doesn't feel quite human. It would be pleasure to do some good, honest, physical work, to not think about make-up and clothes and promotions and cell phones and cars.

And some shoofly pie would be good too!

Yes you can join, though they do not go out looking for people. Even when you want to join they put you through a lot of work because it is so easy to want to return. They have a lot of people who visit and they decide all of a sudden that they are going to put on an apron and return to their roots, and the Amish do not want this. They also are weary of other faiths you may have practiced because while they are Christians, they have some different beliefs, and in some sects simply announcing Jesus as your saviour is enough to get you shunned.

All the time i want to throw away ever ounce of education and knowledge that i have worked for my whole life. Then after i become Amish, i will grow bored with it and start up a new faction of the branch Davidians

They are wonderful people! and a lesson to all. Many times I wish I had been born into the Amish community.

sometimes a simpler lifestyle would be nice.... but then again, I like having access to modern medical care, like driving....
