I have fallen head over heals over a man I met thru mutual friends 6 weeks ago.It feels good to be in an infatuated state but I don't think it would be a good idea to pursue my affection for this person.
I will be spending more time with these people over the next few months and I think this infatuation will get in my way if I do something about it.
How would you brush off such a strong feeling you really don't want to have.
I have a good idea he feels the same way about me.

And whyyy don't you want to date him? If you both like each other, what's the problem? There really isn't any way to get rid of strong feelings like this about someone.

Proceed carefully. Develop your relationship separately from the other friends.
