My DVD-ROM drive keeps opening and closing; the virus scan says it is cookie 3130. How to remove cookie 3130?
This has been going on for months. I have Windows XP, PC-Cillin anti-virus (it is very good, but apparently not good enough). Whenever I do a virus scan, the CD-ROM drive will quite for awhile. The PC-Cillin says that cookie 3130 comes from a website www.Yimg.com (which I have never visited) and is often accompanied by cookie 1830, which PC-Cillin says comes from www.mediaplex.com, a site which I never visit. Apparently, Yahoo, Google, or Discovercard or credit unions are connected with these sites. Does any one know how to stop these cookies? I would like to have control of my computer!
Thanks!

that is strange. you can delete the cookies by going into your control panel and opening internet options. there should be a delete cookies button on the window that opens up. also, you are probably getting these cookies from a third party site. (like a pop up ad, or an ad on a website you visit) to block these cookies go back into internet options and click the security tab. now make sure the slider is on medium-medium high. this will block third party cookies and still let you freely browse the internet.
as for your virus protection, i recommend AVG (www.grisoft.com) that is the anti-virus i use and it blocks and deletes harmful cookies before they are even downloaded. i have used this program for two years and have never had a virus.
hope this helps!
