    I am a former chef and get mine in the Asian markets of Toronto Canada, it is in a rock form and is also called Niter, but comes from China, try a drug store, as it is used to help with deep cuts, like Boric acid it takes the swelling down and aids in the healing.

    It may be behind the pharmisists counter, you may have to ask for it, most likely you will get Potassium Nitrate.

    Ask your druggist/pharmacist to sell you a couple ounces of potassium nitrate. That's what saltpeter is...
