Most, even higher quality ones, are measured across the chest (not around). This is the case unless based on suit and Euro sizing in which case you can google a standard conversion chart. Anyhow, for most hunt coats you take a current jacket that fits you, lay it flat and measure across the front.

This is to say if you are a man who takes a 44 coat you would wear a 22 jacket. And if you are a woman with a size 40 bust (over your chest, not like undergarment fitting) then you wear a size 20. That's rough of course, your jacket will likely need tailoring once you get it to fit just you and if you are going to have it tailored and you are borderline, go up a size for safe measure. I've always got to get my sleeves let down because my arms a tad too long! If this is all too much trouble you can always have them custom made:

Depends on the brands. RJ Classics run close to normal "street size" clothing. So if you wear size 4 dress, then you would wear size 4 coat. Elite and Grand Prix Coats are European sized, best to try one on at the tack store before you buy it. I don't know about the cheaper lines of coats like Devon Aire, Equine Athletics, etc.

A good website with lots of nice hunt coats on it is www.tackroominc.com

hues like gray (no count the colour), dark army or maybe dark vegetables are very independent and conservative hues that should pass properly with any shade horse. I say you in basic terms decide for a jacket which you like and that fits you properly as a results of fact hunt clothing are versatile adequate to tournament your horse no count what the colour. I easily have a tan, army, and black hunt coat and all 3 seem stable on each and every of the horses I experience.

if you not for sure about sizes you need to go to a local shop and look at the different sizes and styles and try them on. Because each shop's sizing maybe a little different.
