how wealthy is J.K. Rowling for the Harry Potter books?

she has to have loads of money.. i'm sure the movies had to buy rights to use the book, and not to mention the books alone.. but does anyone have numbers?

    In 1998, she was paid $105,000 for the American rights to the books – an unprecedented amount for a children's book by an unknown author.

    In 1999, Rowling sold the film rights to the first four Harry Potter books to Warner Bros. for a reported £1 million ($1,982,900 U.S. dollars)

    In February 2004, Forbes magazine estimated her fortune at £576 million (just over US $1 billion and still is at the same spot in 2007)

    She is the first person in the world to earn over $1 billion by writing books.
