xbox 360: overheating issues?

well, i havnt had the red lights of death yet, not really any overheating issues until now. It now is starting to get very hot at the back of the console after about 5 minutes after it is turned on. I mean it still works fine, but i need to reslolve this issues before its too late! (i got the 360 in 2006, at christmas)

Update:

i WILL NOT buy the nyko intercooler. i have heard that it can melt on the back of the xbox 360 and make the xbox work twice as hard because it is using the power fromt he xbox 360, so im not taking any risk like that.

i had to get a fan, but don't get a fan that plugs into the 360 b/c it'll drain the power and more than likely cause the red ring of death, mine cost about 15-20 bucks and the xbox just stands on its side into the fan and the fan has its own power cord it think it is a pelican

get a inter cooler they cost about 10 to 20 dollars even if your 360 messes up Microsoft will replace they just added a 3 year warranty to all 360's

Get the cooling system for the 360

There are aftermarket 'cooling pads' available for the Xbox which help circulate air. A free version of this would be a mini electric fan like you would buy for a dorm room (Target,Walmart etc.).

nyko inter-coolers suck i already had two of them and they both messed up just call the xbox provider and ask what the best thing to do . they have extended the warranty on them due to problems

Ok either get the money to buy a fan. Or be cheap like me. All you need is a simple fan hook it up behind your 360 and bam instant cheap guy cooling system. ((OR use an icepack .. ***Results may varry**If you do use an icepack I take no responibility in the damages ))

i read in the newspaper that microsoft was extending the warranty from 1 year to three years. i would call the company to see if they will replace it.
