I need help with my headlights and turn signals?
i have an 1988 ford escort. the headlights nor the turnsignals will not work. I have to drive around with my high beams on. I have replaced the bulbs but still wont work i also checked the fuses. could anyone possibly tell me what could be wrong? Thanks

The multifunction switch is possible going bad , That is where you turn on the blinkers and wipers check it out hope this helps

I had this issue in my 1988 EXP.
Because of the age of the vehicle, the wiring harness that plugs into headlight switch is probably going out. You can do one of two things: 1) Pulling the switch out, and applying electric grease (if you go to AutoZone, they'll know what you mean). 2) This is harder, but it'll work. Replace the entire wiring harness.

The switch might have broken on headlight & check fuses & bulb again for the blinkers

I assume that they are both controlled by the same lever in that model. It sounds like the multi switch in the steering column.
This is most likely a dealer only part. You can get to it by taking off the upper and lower covers from the steering column. They should unplug and unscrew out and just reverse to install the new one.

Loose wires, bad earth connection. Any half decent auto electrician could find this out in a few minutes!
