how do you do that?
how do you remove the steerng colum cover from a 1988 ford escort? i cant find the screws to do so. I hope you dont have to pull the steering wheel off. if someone could show me where to find schimatics it would be helpful

Most columns have a 2 piece cover that snaps together on each side and at least 1 screw that holds it on the bottom,recessed in a pocket.I'm not sure about your Escort,but that's the standard way.I doubt that the steering wheel needs to come off.Force the 2 halves apart with a blade.

Disconnect the linkage from the steering leg
Unhook the wire loom form the column
Drop the clamp that holds the column in place
And pull it out.

There should be a piece covering the horn that you can remove by prying it off. Then there's a big bolt in the middle to remove. You will probably need a pulley puller before it is over with also
