trading a saddle for a horse--want your opinion...?

someone wants to trade me a horse for my saddle, all in all I think it is a reasonable trade for both sides. my question is that I would have to drive 4-5 hours to pick up the horse and bring her the saddle...I don't want to get there and have her say that she doesn't like the saddle/or it doesn't fit, and she no longer wants to trade...then I would be out the gas $ and 8-10 hours driving time. Any suggestions?

Update:

She has been sent pics. of the saddle from all angles and all the measurements, and I have pics. of the horse. But there is not a gurantee that she'll like the saddle in person or that it will fit her horse.

send her a picture of it first to see if she likes it. that way you will know it will be worth the trip. good luck.

how much has upkeep been on the saddle since you bought it? how much do you expect the overall cost of keeping a horse to be over the life of it? doesn't seem like such a good deal to me.

Tell her that you want her guarantee before you take the trip.
