Adding denatured alcohol to gasoline periodically (to remove condensed water) - is it a good practice?

If yes, then how frequently? If no, then why not?

In modern fuel injected systems the fuel tank is a closed system, condensation is really a non issue. If you live in a very cold climates the oil companies blend in water dispersants with their winter blended fuel.

Definitely NO! Your car is not designed to run on alcohol. The rubber in the fuel system will be damaged by the alcohol.

If you need to remove water, use a product called Heet. I live in So Cal, so it isn't needed here, but I grew up in Chicago and we would add a can in the fall. This would remove any water in the fuel, which is a very bad thing in cold weather.

    Good luck!
