Fishing in South West Illinois?

I am about to move to Fairview Heights, IL (St Clair County) and I was wondering if anyone knew of any good fishing spots. I was looking at Frank Holton Lakes but I use a boat and there requirments say your boat must be less then 10hp. To me if you are in a 10 hp boat you might as well be using paddles.

Horseshoe Lake if you catch and release. Few boats, 50 HP limit. No jet skis. Good kayaking place that no one knows about.

Carlyle Lake http://dnr.state.il.us/lands/Landmgt/PARKS/R4/CARL... It is a large lake, over 10 miles long, large open area and protected coves and branches. Some areas well developed, some not. I would think you could find anything you are looking for there. About 1 hour from Fairview Heights.

Silver Lake in Belleville. The last time I checked, boaters needed $300,000 liability insurance to use the lake.
