A frugal person doesn't waste anything, particularly money, a miser doesn't spend money even when they should, a tight person is the one who ducks their share (IE round at the pub), and plain broke is not being able to afford it, my gf is so tight, she looks under her pillow in a morning to see if she lost any sleep!

all of them mean the same apart from plain broke - if you are plain broke you have nothing to be frugal with!

    frugal, is careful with money.

broke, is wishing you had some to be careful with.
