my 99 metro 4 cylinder automatic has lost reverse, the other gears seem to be fine, but no back up, it will roll backwards in neutral, and it sounds like it's shifting when you remove it from park......any ideas

yeah, its called get your transmission rebuilt. losing a gear is the first sign that your tranny is dying. get it fixed or you will be hitch hiking real soon. I've been there !! just replaced one on a 95 s10 blazer. not fun.

you're suited approximately one element, the transmission has to return aside and get rebuilt... besides the undeniable fact that it's not the transmission pump like another posts have pronounced or the torque converter. What broke on your trans. is noted as the (reaction solar shell) the reason your truck seems to bounce forward is by fact while this section brakes you haven't any longer have been given opposite, 2nd or forth kit so it is going from 1st to third ...very easy on the 4L60e transmission. I many times provide the customer the call of the two rebuilding the full element or changing the broken solar shell if each and all the clutches look ok... and a super sort of have opted to basically replace the broken section (no issues) lots extra much less high priced..

first check the reverse primary valve the the revers boost valve (located in the pump) but most likely your low reverse clutches are worn and need to b replaced ................................................and to the Italian dude people ask questions to get an ideal of what they are getting into so that when they start the repairs they know what to expect whether they do it or have it done .
