What's your opinion of Windows Vista?

I have to buy a new computer for my office. I am a bit nervous about changing from Windows XP to Vista. I use Peachtree Accounting software and Microsoft Office programs more than anything else. Will I still be able to open the files (word, excel, etc.) I have saved to cd's that were created on Windows XP ? It is critical that I still have access to these. (I do know that I will need to reinstall Microsoft Office on the new computer, IF it will run it...) Would I have to buy a different version of Microsoft Office for Vista?

What are the pros and cons of Vista? What's your opinion of it? Do you still use the same Internet Explorer with Vista?

Hey it isn't worthy investing in vista yet.........It seems to have lots of bugs and complicated .............some of the software which were developed for windows platform aren't runnig in vista........ I heard that some company which invested on vista has file a case against Microsoft for instability of vista.....

Its better to wait for a better version of Vista

Premium is the way to go, but 64 bit is not supported by many programs or drivers, 32 bit being moderately better off.

But! I use Vista at home, and I love it. I don't even have icons on my desktop anymore, it's much more secure (especially on networks) and stable as a rock... you could wait a bit for drivers to catch up to this new windows version, though. Nvidia has improved its drivers in the past month or so.

    Vista is awesome!

you can still open your files!

your M,S word version will still work!(if not, run it in compatibility mode!!!)

Vista comes with internet explorer 7!

It has some minor glitches but if you install the updates(for free) then it gets better!

If you get it, be sure to upgrade to at least Premium.
