My daughter is having trouble with bullies at school?
There is a group of girls bullying my 14 year old daughter at school. This has been going on for over 2 months now. They constantly threaten her and call her names. These same girls attacked my daughter twice last year. I went to the school to talk to the principal yesterday and he has not said a word to the girls about it. He didn't seem to care last year either until I went above his head to the county superintendent of education. What should I do about this? Can the police help me since they are threatening her and have already hurt her last year? (I live in Alabama) By the way, one of the girls is already on probation for violence she was involved in a while back.
What would you do if you were in my position?
7 AnswersOther - Education1 decade agoWhy cant I connect to my wireless network after replacing my hard drive?
I had to install a new hard drive in my laptop today. I did it myself and was able to successfully reload the OS (Windows Vista) and get the machine running again. Everything is working great except I can't connect to my wireless network. It keeps telling me that the adapter is unplugged. I don't really understand what this means because I never needed any adapter to get online before. I did get online using an ethernet cable and downloaded updates from Microsoft but it didn't help. (That was what the troubleshooting window on the computer told me to do) Can anyone help me? My daughter has to use this laptop for college so it has to be able to connect wirelessly.

Is there a way I can make the picture stretch out and fit the screen better while keeping my resolution set at the high at 1680 X 1050 pixels? I would like a good clear picture rather than the blurry one I get when I go to a lower setting. Thanks for your help.

6 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoWhat kind of wood stain should I use for my pool deck?
We built a large deck around our swimming pool from pressure treated wood. I'm ready to apply a stain and I'm not sure what kind to use.
When I looked at the many different brands, I noticed that most of them are oil based. Is it okay to use an oil based product around the pool? Will it be completely absorbed into the wood so the surface is dry? Is there a possibility of the oil being tracked into my pool off people's feet?
Thanks for your help here.
Oh, by the way, the deck has been built a few months so it is dried out now.

21 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoTeens, what's your favorite dance songs?
I'm having a Halloween Ball for the band at my daughter's high school next weekend. I need some cool music to play.
What's your favorite songs to dance too? I'd like a variety of music including fast and slow songs. These need to be fairly "G" rated so no one's parents will freak out or anything, LOL!
We can't really afford to hire a DJ, so I am trying to handle this myself and burn some mixed CD's.
Thanks in advance for your help. I can't wait, this is going to be fun!
6 AnswersDancing1 decade agoHelp with a thank you letter?
I need help and/or ideas for things to say in a thank you letter. A guy who works at a local bank donated money to the band boosters organization I am in. I need to write him and his bank a thank you letter that sounds professional and sincere. I'm at a loss for words. I cannot come up with anything good to write.
I have looked for examples online but I can only find sites that want you to join as a paid member before they will show you anything or give you tips. Most of these sites are for people wanting to thank a job interviewer.
I appreicate your help and I will give 10 points to the first good answer!
2 AnswersOther - Business & Finance1 decade agoWhen someone dies and you have no money for a funeral?
I have a good friend whose husband is in the hospital on life support. Sadly, his time is very limited at this point. My friend is so worried because they have no insurance and NO money for a funeral and/or burial for him when he dies. Yes, I know what you're thinking, they should have had life insurance - but this couple is young and no one expects a tragedy like this to happen at their ages. Anyway, it's too late to think about that now. My question is - What will happen if she can't afford a funeral? Are there any agencies that will help her out in this situation? Will the government help? If you have any information that could be of help to them please let me know. She is desperate here. By the way, she lives in the state of Alabama if that helps.
If you are planning to leave a rude or mean answer please reconsider, this is a very serious situation. This poor girl just lost one of her parents last week, now she's losing her husband.
Thanks for your help and advice.
16 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoWhat's your opinion of Windows Vista?
I have to buy a new computer for my office. I am a bit nervous about changing from Windows XP to Vista. I use Peachtree Accounting software and Microsoft Office programs more than anything else. Will I still be able to open the files (word, excel, etc.) I have saved to cd's that were created on Windows XP ? It is critical that I still have access to these. (I do know that I will need to reinstall Microsoft Office on the new computer, IF it will run it...) Would I have to buy a different version of Microsoft Office for Vista?
What are the pros and cons of Vista? What's your opinion of it? Do you still use the same Internet Explorer with Vista?

22 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoJust got our new swimming pool installed. Anyone using BAQUACIL?
What has been your experience with BAQUACIL?
We just got our new pool installed last week. I will be filling it up and adding chemicals this week. I have purchased the BAQUACIL system. I used regular chlorine in my pool at my other house. At the pool store I was told about the advantages of Baquacil: no earaches, does not dry out your skin, will not fade bathing suits, less maintenance time, not as corrosive on the liner, etc. I know the Baquacil costs more, but if it really works better I dont care. Also, I have heard that after 2 or 3 years most people need to switch back to chlorine for a while.
I just wondered what people who have used this product thought of it? Did it work good for you or not? Thanks.
