Help with a thank you letter?
I need help and/or ideas for things to say in a thank you letter. A guy who works at a local bank donated money to the band boosters organization I am in. I need to write him and his bank a thank you letter that sounds professional and sincere. I'm at a loss for words. I cannot come up with anything good to write.
I have looked for examples online but I can only find sites that want you to join as a paid member before they will show you anything or give you tips. Most of these sites are for people wanting to thank a job interviewer.
I appreicate your help and I will give 10 points to the first good answer!

I would say something like this:
Dear ____________
I am writing this note in regards to your recent donation of [what donated] to [music boosters organization name]. I would like to sincerely thank you for your kind generosity. Your support of our cause is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
hope it helps!

First, tell him simply thank you.
People like to know what impact they had and that they gave more than other people.
Tell him what his donation enabled. For example, the amount you gave enabled us to help 12 starving wretches eat another day. Okay, it was a donation to band boosters--so, "Your donation enabled us to _____ 5 more people do ____ that would not otherwise been able to."
If the gift was larger than normal, you could say, "Your was the largest gift" or "Yours was one of our largest gifts" or "Yours was in the top x% of gifts".
Handwritten is a plus!
