Why cant I connect to my wireless network after replacing my hard drive?

I had to install a new hard drive in my laptop today. I did it myself and was able to successfully reload the OS (Windows Vista) and get the machine running again. Everything is working great except I can't connect to my wireless network. It keeps telling me that the adapter is unplugged. I don't really understand what this means because I never needed any adapter to get online before. I did get online using an ethernet cable and downloaded updates from Microsoft but it didn't help. (That was what the troubleshooting window on the computer told me to do) Can anyone help me? My daughter has to use this laptop for college so it has to be able to connect wirelessly.

Your wireless adapter is the wireless network card built into the laptop. You need to find and download the correct driver for that specific wireless adapter. After you find out the make and model of your wireless adapter you should go to Google and type DRIVER after the make and model of your wireless adapter, then download the driver and install. Enjoy

Sometimes, I see people accidentally turn off the wireless card switch usually located in the front of the laptop. If you are sure the driver is loaded properly, then you might want to check this.
