There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:

Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

To hide dark circles, you can use YSL concealer or salmon concealer..

Having dark circles could mean a number of things, As you tack on the years, the skin covering your eyelids thins out, which may cause the blood vessels to become more apparent, giving your lower eyelids a darker appearance. It's also possible that thin eyelids can be inherited. Dark eyelids can also be caused from swelling in your lower eyelids. When you're lying down, gravity causes fluid to collect in your lower eyelids, which may create shadows below your eyes.

But because you're much younger i think it could be lack of hydration, do you drink 2ltrs of water everyday?

    Here a couple of remedies:

Gently massage saffron or almond oil on the dark area before going to bed. These can be bought from any health store, sml 10ml bottle should last you a while.

    or

Dip cotton pads in fig juice, rosewater, or cold milk. Lie down with your feet raised higher than your head, then place the wet pads on your closed eyes. Stay that way for 10 minutes, do this every night before going to bed.

p.s. dark circles could also be an inheritance from parents or grandparents, so keep that in mind too.

Dark circles are usually a result of genetics...but you can get them also from lack of sleep, stress and other enviromental causes. The best solution for them I believe is usually an eye cream that helps micro circulation around the eyes and also an eye brightner like vitamin C or K. I know of several eyecreams you can get at drugs stores that work really well. One of them is Jason Natural vitamin C eye Gel or Alba's Green Tea eye Gel.
