Preferably on Windows Media.

So I can take off the songs I don't want,

Windows Media Player does not allow you to view ALL content on your player. It only allows you to view PARTIAL.

Best way is to go to "My Computer" after your connect the player. Select your player, everything beyond this point should be quite self explanatory. No need to be too deatiled... Head over to the music folder, and you'll see all your songs. Go back to view other contents, (ie. photos, videos, system files, etc). To delete, just right click on a song and drop down to delete.

If the status bar towards the bottom of the window states you have hidden files, unhide them by going to "Tools" located on the menu bar > "Folder Options" > select the "View" tab > select "Show hidden files and folders". From there, you will see hidden files and folders as faded folders and files.

The simpliest way to remove songs off a mp3 player is to connect it to the computer and "open in a folder."

Or, once the device is connected. dbl click "my computer". the device should be a drive. just dbl click it and there you go. you can add music the same way.
