Are American Alligators endangered?

    No, they are not. They were endangered years ago but have repopulated. In fact, there are so many of them in Florida that there is open season on alligators (starts in September).

    The Chinese Alligator, however, is very much endangered, so don't go over there and start trying to kill them!

    By the way, alligator is frickin DELICIOUS!

    There is also a season in La. Many farms are in the area that raise and harvest them for meat and hide.
