chasing points?

what are your thoughts on this i believe the top teams in points will stop points racing soon and start taking more chances for the win since they are firmly in the chase.that or they will start trying different set-ups through out the last couple of races to try and get an advantage during the chase

Update:

i wasn't talking about last weeks race i was talking about upcoming races

Update 2:

a team like gordon or hamlin really have nothing to lose it doesnt matter if they are 1st in points or 12th in points they are stillin the chase i would take more chances and try to get more wins or try a few things different on setup to try and gain

Update 3:

advantage for the chase they could both afford to have a few bad races and then the chase starts and the points are reset

    I think, nowadays, points racing starts in Daytona. It seems as if everyone is trying to get a good finish, rather than go for the win....well not really...but you know what I mean. You seldom see anyone just checking out on the field. Everyone stays close, and they don't take the big risks anymore. This years Daytona was kinda different, but hey...that was Daytona!!!!

    So you believe that Matt Kenseth wasn't really trying to win the race Sunday? I think that every driver on the track was truely trying to win the race. After a particular driver goes a couple of laps down then they stop trying to win and start trying different things to give them a better chance on that track for the next time they are racing there.

    Don't forget this year that you get extra points for the number of wins that you've had in the season - it's not just a straight grading like it has been the past couple of years...

    Well I need DaleJr too keep chasing points to make sure he doesn't drop out of the top 12. The other guys can do what they want.

    i believe that they have to race hard every race not to be caught in the pack taking a chaance of crashing , stay out front , and stay out of trouble

    these guys have racing in their blood and are gonna race as hard as they can all the time
