Just got off birth control two and a half weeks ago and now spotting. Is this normal?

So my last two "periods" were on birth control (ortho tricyclen) and very light and looked like (and probably was) spotting. I went to the ob-gyn for my annual pap on july 5th and i told her and she said i was fine. that is was normal because i was on birth control. after my second light period i stopped taking birth control pills. i was supposed to start a new pack on July 1st but i did not have my perscription so i am skipping this month. i am not sexually active right now but i have already started to spot and it is only July 17th. Is this normal?
