What was the weather like? Were restaurants open? Was it busy?
Thanks

Hi there. We live near Polis/Latchi (40 mins from Paphos).
Christmas is a great time to visit. The weather is warm, the sun usually shines and you will great views, especially first thing when the air is crisp and cooler.
Christmas is not a traditionally festive time here in Cyprus - it's way less commercialised than in the UK/rest of Europe although with a growing foreign population, that is changing.
I still like the fact that the Xmas decoration don't go up till early December - at least here in Polis!
Some restaurants and hotels do close down between end Nov and end March but most are open. It's best, however, to book any meal on Xmas day well in advance as most of the restaurants in Latchi/Polis do close for Xmas day as the owners have a family day. In Paphos though there will be plenty open - you just need to check in advance or get freindly with a local who will invite you for for Xmas lunch with the family!if all else fails, what better way to celebrate than with a BBQ on the beach - grab a takeaway BBQ tray, buy some fish, fruit etc from the local supermarket (they will shut on Xmas day too but open the rest of the time) and enjoy..far from the madding crowds of Summer.
It's also a great time for walking/cycling which is what we love. Find out what you can do on the websites below and enjoy!

I've spent 2 Christmas's in Cyprus in Limassol and had days out to Paphos, the weather was pretty good on the whole, able to wear t-shirts and shorts. Everything in Limassol was open but it is a larger town than Paphos. I stayed at two different hotels . One was teaming with kids and I'm sorry to say the English ones were a pain in the a---e. The other hotel had a children's club and a courier to look after them, so the holiday was much more relaxing, so do check out whether children's entertainment is catered for otherwise it can spoil a good holiday. Have a good time.

I have been to Paphos in october, it was still 90 degrees, one or two restaurants were closed, and more were closing, there will always be some open though because of tourism, it is a wonderful place, not really much for kids to do, but mine still enjoyed it. Have fun!
