I'm seeing some pretty lame answers here so far. Do u remember that lady on the news that was falsely accused of being a sex offender? She tried to appeal, it didn't work. Turns out there was a SO in some other state with a simular name, but after a few months of fighting it, she's still without a myspace page. I dont like myspace, but if i was accused, i might considering filing a lawsuit if i felt that concerned about it. I think this is just a political move by myspace just like everything else out there meant to give parents a false sense of security. The BEST protection is to not allow our kids on myspace, period...or at the very least monitor them. Parents are getting too spoiled when it comes to letting the government raise thier kids for them....but remember this parents, the government dont give two cents about your child's safety, just your votes. I hate to say it, but these sex laws and publicity stunts do more harm than good, and we have several statistics and doctors who agree with me on that.

I'd be pretty upset and humiliated. I've had myspace for 2 years and moved 1,000 miles away from my hometown and depend on that as a cheap, easy way for day to day contact with my family and friends. (Long distance can get VERY expensive!) It's a great idea in theory and I applaud myspace for taking a positive step in the right direction. However, they obviously have some bugs that they need to work out because labeling someone a sex offender is a very serious accusation and some research needs to go into each person's profile before they delete it.

I read what happened and if you look at what Kelly Fox says, a lady that wrote comments on the article, everything is true. Its a good thing that MySpace takes some action against that kind of people. And if you are falsely labeled one, then you should take action too and make an investigation and fight for the truth. If you know that you arent one, your reputation doesnt have to be ruined, simply prove that you arent, its not hard if youre right. Although i think that the case of this girl is sad, i applaud MySpace for being concerned for other innocent people that use it.

that's impossible. If your labled a sex offender on myspace then u must be labeled one on police records, so there is no such thing as being falsely labled as a sex offender.

ok, there is not something incorrect with Myspace. as long as you employ it responsibly, you shouldn't be in any threat. in spite of the shown fact that, giving out very own tips is mostly a bad thought. So do exactly not. And all you're able to do is shop telling your chum this. you may not stress her to do something.
